A Gift for Everyone This Christmas

Today we celebrate the birth of a precious gift, Jesus Christ. Over 700 years before He was born, prophesy would announce His birth,
"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
A Savior that is Jesus Christ our Lord was born, not as a King should, but as a servant to dwell among the people living out the perfect Law of God without fault; without sin.
"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke  2:8-14
Though He dwelt on the earth for a little while, Jesus Christ was there in the beginning and through Him all things were made.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:1-4
"For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together." Colossians 1:16-17
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." John 1:14
He became a sacrifice for all, both Gentile and Jew. Innocent though He was, he was slain on a wooden cross, conquered death, and rose again and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.
"He himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by His wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24
Through Jesus, a gift of freedom is freely given to ALL people. If accepted, a promise of life beyond this world and forgiveness for all sins; past, present and future.

Now, He makes His dwelling among us through the Holy Spirit and lives in our hearts. Today, He continues to bring us the promise of redemption for anyone who believes in Him,
"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Romans 10:9-11
Remember the reason for celebration; that through Jesus Christ, we have a promise of redemption. The gift of forgiveness of sins and the ability to freely come to the presence of a Holy God through the perfect lamb and sacrifice of Jesus. Praise God for our Savior and may you all have a Merry Christmas!!
